Another great website is happycow.net
That website has helped me out especially when traveling rural America. It also cover other countries.
Trader Joe's is another great store to look for.
Thanks Alex

My best friend and I drove from Los Angeles to North Carolina a few summers ago.. We drove as far as the next Whole Foods. Good times. It's so hard to travel and eat well.

Thank you so much for these tips! I'm reading "Living Vegan for Dummies" and it's such a great book. I'm halfway through an 8 month National Tour as a Stage Manager and became a vegan back in December. It's been pretty tough finding vegan goodies in some places, but tips you gave here and in the book have helped me a lot. I travel with a suitcase designated as my pantry/kitchen with a single stove burner, smoothie maker, and a bunch of canned fruits and beans. I get salads and fresh food as much as I can, but sometimes I have to rely on the processed stuff I carry that doesn't need a fridge. Thanks for all the encouragement...I can't wait until June when the tour is over and I can cook in a real kitchen again!

[...] Staying healthy on the road can be a challenge. Not only do you need to navigate the dangers of the airport food-court, you’ll also be in a strange city with no access to the healthy stores, restaurants and treats you rely on at home. Even your home-away-from-home, wether it be hotel, motel, Holiday Inn, or a friend’s couch, might be a food desert. Ever tried getting something healthy and delicious from a room service menu? Not the easiest feat, I can tell you. Click here to continue reading! [...]
